I am ELATED. Oprah is finally starting the conversation on hormones and hormone therapy. YAHOO!

Just 3 months ago after doing a teleseminar  on “Take Charge of YOUR Hormones, Take Charge of YOUR Life” I said, “it will take the power of  Oprah to change the view of hormones, hormone therapy and the healthcare system. And here it is. That’s what you call manifesting.

What a way to start the New Year. After teaching and coaching people (including physicians) for 15 years on what hormones really are, what they do and ALL the options including bioidentical hormones, I don’t know if I can express in words what it is like to FINALLY have the largest platform in the world for people to come together and hear the REAL truth about hormones and hormone therapy.

I don’t know of any other health issue that has had as much controversy, confusion, and control created by the SYSTEM (pharmaceutical industry, insurance industry, FDA) as hormones and hormone therapy.

It has been a long, sometimes hard journey spreading the word about hormones and hormone therapy. Every time I wanted to give up someone would call and say “I need your help” and I would be hooked again because I knew what it was like to navigate the system  on your own trying to get someone to listen and help put the pieces together on this hormonal journey we call life.

I have been on this journey since I was 14. Now, after 38 years( and I’m still learning) of personal experiences with hormones; working with physicians and pharmacists and dealing with the healthcare system it is time to take our POWER back.

It is time to STAND UP, SPEAK OUT and TAKE CONTROL!

If you missed the first show that aired on Thursday, January 15 you can watch the videos on oprah.com. Unfortunately, it didn’t air in some parts of the country including mine. I couldn’t believe it but then I just laughed. I figured the topic was so hot the air waves couldn’t handle it.

On the videos, you will hear from my mentor, Christiane Northrup, M.D., Prudence Hall, M.D,.Robin McGraw and other women sharing their stories about hormonal imbalance and dealing with uninformed physicians and the system.

“The Great Debate” will continue and I expect it to be a good one. This discussion has the potential to change not only how hormones and hormone therapy have been done for years but our entire health care.

I have been on the oprah.com blog reading and writing. I encourage you to do the same and please post your comments here. Let’s keep the dialog going. This discussion could change the healthcare for you and your children.

It is time for us to STAND UP, SPEAK OUT and TAKE CONTROL. This is the REAL CHANGE we need.
